President Jokowi and Wife Scheduled to Visit Japan this Month

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Vice President Jusuf Kalla has just visited Japan to undergo a number of rendezvous with Japanese Prime Minister and businessmen. Now, it is time for Indonesian President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, accompanied by his wife Iriana Widodo, to come to Japan. They are scheduled to make a friendly visitation to Japan on the 22 through to the 25 of March 2015.

The Vice Deputy of Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, Yusuke Shindo shares the President's future agenda in Japan will be one to meet with Emperor Akihito and his empress, Michiko at the Japanase emperor’s palace on the 23 of March 2015.

"Apart from the formal friendly visitation, the Japanese emperor will also take time to meet with President Jokowi and his wife and have a formal dinner with them," Yusuke informed in Jakarta, Tuesday (17/03/2015).

Similar to Vice President Jusuf Kalla, President Jokowi is also scheduled to meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe which will be followed by a series of visitation to a number of industrial sites in Japan.

According to Shindo, the President’s agenda will continue to be discussed as there are possibilities of changes in the rundown throughout his visit.

"We are still discussing it. But perhaps there is a possibility of an agenda to visit Japanese main industrial factories and the ports there," he continued.

For this trip, President Jokowi will be accompanied by a number of Ministers from his working cabinet such as the Minister of Trade, Rahmat gobel and Minister of Foreign Relations, Retno Marsudi.

The former Japanese Prime Minister, Yasuo Fukuda came to Indonesia in 2014 as a representative of the Japanese government to attend and witness the inauguration of President Jokowi on October 2014. He was the one who initiated the idea of inviting President Jokowi and his vice Jusuf Kalla to make a friendly visitation to Japan. (Akp/Ein)
