RI Hosts 50th Year of ASEAN Ministers of Education Organisation

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indonesia has been chosen as the hosting country to hold the celebration of Southeast ASEAN Ministers of Education Organization this year. The 50th anniversary of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) commences today (7/10/2015) at the Education and Cultural Ministry arena.

The Deputy of SEAMEO RECFON resource management, Miranti Martin informs that the celebration of the organization’s Golden Year will include educational exhibition, international seminar, award-giving session and the official launching of a number of new program.

The event is themed ’50 years of Education and continuation of Regional Development Cooperation.

"As of today, SEAMEO has contributed very much to the development in the educational sector of many countries of the Southeast Asian region, including Indonesia," Miranti stated during press conference held on October 6 2015.

"This year’s celebratory gesture would be a special one where we will introduce SEAMEO so everyone will get a clearer picture as to their contribution including the one that Indonesia has so willingly yielded in the past 50 years. We also sought to spur initiative and willingness to make further contribution by sharing new innovation that could enhance population’s willingness to participate and show unwavering support for the regional cooperation established," she continued.

SEAMEO educational exhibition will be held for two days starting this Wednesday until Thursday at the Education and Cultural Ministry building.(Akp/Rie)
