Jokowi To Reshuffle Minister Judged Through Incompetence

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto under President Joko’ Jokowi’ Widodo and his Vice Jusuf Kalla reveals the possibility of cabinet’s reshuffling due to concerning incompetence evident in the workings of some of the Ministers. He specifically points out to the Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman who is believed to encounter difficulties in attempting to fulfil the programs initially set by the President.

Andi thinks Amran will be an easy target for reshuflling should he fail to fulfil the President’s demand for him to finish a target within 3 years range of time.

"The only explicit statement President conveyed earlier is regarding the reshuffling of Minister of Agriculture if he does not accomplish his goals in three years time," Andi said, (04/02/2015).

Apart from that, Andi informs how there is 100 day indication as previously known by many. Each minister has their own programs and specified date or year for their targets to be reached. Some of them may take quite some time to construct, especially those handling the infrastructure sector. Thus, President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo has assigned each minister to carry out their task without limiting their time to only 100 days as it is impossible.

Andi continues explaining how the Minister of Public Housing and Public Works has been yielded the duty by the President to carry out an infrastructure auction since November 2014. The auction itself has been done, this means that the Minister is complying with the demand. However, since the target for the auction is more than just one, it will take a few more months for it to be fully completed. Thus, some ministers require a lot of times for them to reach completion stage. President Jokowi offcourse considers this condition and he will not remove those who work hard despite hitherto unfinished programs.

"What I would to share about what the President thinks is that, he will not give a 100 day indicators for his ministers to carry out all their task initially given by Jokowi. There are short- term targets for a number of Ministers, and some are long term ones as well. So there is no clear indicator that determines the minister’s ability to complete their job or not. The President however, will have those who fail to fulfil both their short and long term targets cut off through a thorough reshuffling process," Andi concluded. (Akp/Ein)
